When do you choose to do Agile software development? Why do you think you’ll be more successful using Agile than other methodologies? We believe the IT industry is in the middle of a midlife crisis and Agile is its symptom. Strangely enough, the IT community is operating on a very limited set of historic information which may lead us to solving the wrong problems. Perhaps it’s time to admit that Agile is similar to a 45 year olds’ brand new red convertible that proves he is still alive.

That's Not Agile! Removing Religion From Software Development

room: Conference F, M — time: Thursday 08:30-10:00

As an organization adopts Agile, the temptation grows to convert process into ‘religion’. “We can’t write documents, that’s not Agile!” What may start as genuine excitement can become religious dogma when those involved in the process lose sight of why they do what they do.

The label “Agile” isn’t what helps us know if one thing is better than another. How do we decide a practice is “Agile?” Does it even matter if a practice is called “Agile?”

This interactive workshop will explore these questions with presentations, activities and discussions.
