Mr. Thomas is currently Information Technology (IT) Program Manager for the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Program at DTE Energy in Detroit, Michigan. His responsibilities include all aspects of IT hardware and software in support of the AMI program including meter data management and AMI systems implementation and backend integration.
Mr. Thomas has over 30 years experience in all aspects of IT including 12 years at DTE Energy holding positions of Senior Project Manager, Middle Tier Engineering Supervisor, and Project Management Practice Manager. He has been involved in a wide variety of leadership endeavors at DTE Energy including systems implementation of storm emergency field dispatching and resource management, computer telephony integration and interactive voice response, and electric deregulation. In addition, he was a leader in the implementation of agile project management and software development approaches and the achievement of Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) Level 3 certification.
Mr. Thomas holds a Bachelors degree in Operations Research and Information Systems from the College of Business at Eastern Michigan University as well as a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Regent University. He is a member of the Project Management Institute, holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and is a charter member of the Agile Project Leadership Network (APLN).
