Short Bio: I am a team manager in the Software Engineering Services group led by Christ Vriens. After around 20 years of software development practices, of which the last 5 or so inside SES, the group has grown so large that an extra management layer has been added. In the context of SES I’ve had to adapt the agile values as a quite experienced programmer, and learn another way of developing software in team context. After some hurdles, such as gettng accustomed to pair programming, I’ve found there is a lot of power in agile development. Being a team manager gives me the responsibility, but I should say opportunity, to share my enthusiasm and drive to team leaders and their teams. It is such fun to watch a team embrace agile, and feel the vibe of the train getting up to speed, so much that customers find it hard to keep up.
